This Friday, Florencia Cornejo, grandmother of Deniece Cornejo (who became a central character in a string of controversies involving her, businessman Cedric Lee and actor-comedian Vhong Navarro), sits on Face The People’s ‘silya de konsensya’ to once and for all decide if she should remain mum or start fighting those who oppress her granddaughter and their family.
Cornejo, 63, marched to the TV5 studio without fear and told the people that she’s had enough of all the false accusations and defamations thrown against her family. She lamented all the unfortunate incidents they have encountered from the moment the controversy involving her granddaughter broke loose. For Cornejo, the media has not been fair to them.
She found adversity in entertainment columnists Pete Ampoloquio and Peter Ledesma who told her that as members of the press, it is their right and duty to write about the truth, such as Deniece’s cosmetic surgeries.
Meanwhile, Florencia’s cousin Rufino rushed to her defense, saying that some people are quick to lay judgement. Cornejo’s colleague, Rachelle, also shared how the old lady lost her clients once they found out that she’s related to Deniece.
Women’s rights group Gabriela also shed light on the issue of rape, while two rape survivors shared how they coped with their tragic memories.
Should Cornejo fight for her family’s honor, or should she just let the heavens avenge her? Find out tomorrow (Friday) on Face The People, 4:30 PM on TV5!
