Benjamin Alves, who plays Bok turned Agalon, the half-human and half-bird in the series, is sad the show is ending this week. His character progressed as funny and street-smart kanto boy named Bok until he remembered his past and real identity as Agalon, Garuda’s half brother who was sent to search for Ada.
In a blog-con on February 7 at House of Lasagna (Eton Centris) conducted by GMA Artist Center, Benjamin admits that he enjoys now being the bad guy in this series.
He shared, “It’s so much better. It’s so nice because it’s so outside of who I am. Just for an actor, it’s a dream come true.”
He added, “I don’t wanna play on a very minimal effort, it’s not a minimal effort but it’s an easier way to go on a role that’s very you. So if it’s something outside of me, I enjoy it. I enjoy it being a kontrabida. He was good and then he became bad then worse pero may redemption naman in the end so it’s okay. More fun for me. If they’ll be keep giving me that, I’ll keep exploring it.”
As an actor, Benjamin believes in his craft, passion, not being choosy with roles. He so much believes in GMA Network and thankful for giving him roles like this in “Adarna.” Benjamin doesn’t mind to be typecasted as a kontrabida. Well, for me, it’s not a big deal as viewer. He’s one of the cutest kontrabida on TV. Am I right?!
Here’s Benjamin’s invitation for “Adarna’s” last week:
Helmed by director Ricky Davao, “Adarna” highlights the value of love and acceptance. This show continues to offer a different level of thrill and acting prowess now on its last week.
Aside from Benjamin, Kylie Padilla leads the cast of “Adarna” together with Geoff Eigenmann, and Mikael Daez. Completing the cast are Michelle Madrigal, Ryza Cenon, Saab Magalona, Arkin Magalona, and Chynna Ortaleza plus stellar performances from renowned actors and actresses Jean Garcia, Jestoni Alarcon, Maureen Larazzabal, and Dante Rivero.
Catch Benjamin as ‘Agalon’ on his last flight this week in “Adarna,” weeknights after 24 Oras, on GMA Telebabad.
