The young actor, whose name was not released since he is still a minor, was reportedly caught in the possession of rolling paper and marijuana residue inside a stainless steel box, a number of Valium tablets, and a smoking pipe.
The young actor, whose name is being withheld because he is a minor — and 3 others were brought to the Angeles City Prosecutor’s office for questioning, while the three others were released after being detained at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 3 office.
Regional Director Jeoffrey Tacio of PDEA Region 3 said his office received a tip that some attendees of the Clark music fest were using illegal drugs during the concert, prompting him to send an undercover team to monitor and investigate the venue. Authorities seized from the group a stainless box containing marijuana dried leaves, a marijuana stick, a blue tablet suspected to be valium and a smoking pipe with marijuana residue.
The PDEA said that although they are minors, they will be criminally liable under Republic Act 9344 or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, if the court finds them guilty of the drug case. Both the 17-year-old boys will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Appropriate cases for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 15 (Use of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing in court against the suspects.
Thousands of tourists, teenagers and young adults, including celebrities, flocked to the two-day 7107 International Music Festival held at Global Gateway Logistics City in Clark to watch the performances of famous local and international rock bands and artists on stage.
