DZMM is also the unanimous choice of students as it swept the top honors given by different student award-giving bodies.
In 2013, DZMM ruled competition across all time blocks, according to the Kantar Media Radio Audience Measurement. DZMM registered an average audience share of 35% for the said year, beating rival stations DZBB (20%), DZRH (15%), and DWWW (14%).
DZMM also opened 2014 as the most awarded AM radio station in the country after it was named the Best AM Station and AM Radio Station of the Year at the 1st Mabini Media Awards of Polytechnic University of the Philippines and the 8th Gandingan Isko’t Iska’s Broadcast Choice Awards of UP Los Banos.
DZMM anchors ruled at the Mabini Awards where Julius Babao was hailed as the Best Radio Public Service Program Host, Anthony Taberna as the Best Radio News Commentary Program Host, and Ricky Rosales as the Best Radio News Program Host.
DZMM also won Best Radio Public Service Program for “Aksyon Ngayon,” Best Radio News Commentary Program for “Dos Por Dos,” and Best Radio News Program for “Gising Pilipinas.”
UPLB Gandingan, meanwhile, honored Ted Failon as the Best AM Announcer, “Failon Ngayon” as the Most Development-Oriented Radio Program, and “Suriang Bayan sa SRO” as the Most Development-Oriented Radio Plug. Anchor Carl Balita, meanwhile, was again named the Gandingan ng Kabuhayan.
Academics, critics, and professors earlier recognized Todo-Todo Walang Preno” anchors Ariel Ureta and Winnie Cordero as the Best Male and Female Radio Anchors at the12th Gawad Tanglaw Awards. Last year, DZMM was inducted into the award-giving body’s Hall of Fame after winning Best AM Station for five years.
