Three days after the ‘flesh-eating disease’ report (February 24) by Jasmine Romero, ABS-CBN’s “Bandila” finally issued an apology on air on February 27. “Bandila” apologizes for the unintended fear and panic caused by its report on the cases of skin diseases in two towns in Pangasinan.
Here’s the whole statement read on air by Julius Babao:
“Humihingi ang bandila ng paumanhin kung ang ulat namin tungkol sa dalawang magkaibang kaso ng sakit sa balat ay nagdulot ng takot o pangamba lalo na sa lalawigan ng Pangasinan. Iniimbestigahan na ngayon ng ABS-CBN Officie of the Network Ombudsman (ONO) ang mga pangyayari sa likod ng naturang ulat. Sisiguraduhin ng ABS-CBN News na magpapatupad ito ng karampatang aksyon ayon sa resulta ng imbestigasyon ng ONO.”
