Fans of Glaiza de Castro with the help of GMA Artist Center gave the actress a birthday gift on January 27, when they brought her for the first time to the C.H.I.L.D. Haus in Quezon City and hosted a birthday party for the charity group’s beneficiaries.
Child Haus, according to their website, is a temporary shelter for indigent patients from the different provinces who have cancer or other dreaded diseases and have no place to stay in Metro Manila while undergoing medical evaluation or treatment. It provides free room and board to its residents. The Child Haus is run along the principles of hospice care and promotes the concept of holistic care healing through its various programs, services and activities.
Aside from the programs prepared by GMA Artist Center and Glaiza, the kids of Chaild Haus surprised the birthday celebrant with their letters and a song number. Glaiza can’t hold back tears, buries her face in her hands as the kids sang ‘Thanks to You.’ This may be her most emotional birthday, Glaiza said.
The birthday celebration was also joined by co-actor Derrick Monasterio, who dedicated a song for the kids of Child Haus and the energetic Tess Bomb as host of the program. Special thanks to Tous Les Jours and GMA Artist Center for making this event happen.
Glaiza will be seen in “Cattleya: An OFW Story,” which will be shown in cinemas starting February 5, with Gerald Madrid, Tess Bomb, Jonalyn Viray , and others. We will also be seeing her in a TV series slated for second quarter of 2014.
