Three years after working in Saudi Arabia, Rolando Quiambao decided to put up RolRen’s Lanterns in 1986. With just P300, he made his very first parol and sold it for P450.
Rolando’s creativity has set his products apart from the others. In fact, he was named a “hall of famer” in Pampanga’s Giant Lantern Festival for winning the competition four years in a row. RolRen’s has also become one of the country’s biggest parol suppliers, and has ventured into exporting products in the US and Europe.
The episode also shows singer-actor Sam Milby touring Karen in his authentic German restaurant in Bonifacio Global City and showing off his cooking skills.
Doris Bigornia, meanwhile, continues to spread good vibes tomorrow (Dec 3) by featuring the inspiring story of a candidate in “Mutya ng Salinas,” a beauty pageant in Salinas, Gen. Trias, Cavite whose concept was derived from “Mutya ng Masa.” The pageant features teenagers whose parents are market vendors, fishermen, or have jobs that are considered “pang-masa.”
