Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has summoned some GMA Network executives, “Bubbble Gang” creative team, Rufa Mae Quinto and Michael V. over a ‘puto bumbong’ sexist gag that was aired last November 29, 2013. Michael V. and Ruffa Mae will be joined by head writer Caesar Cosme, director Uro de la Cruz, executive producer Junalyn Navarro, program manager Eva Arespacochaga, vice president for entertainment Marvin Arayata, and vice president for program management Jose Mari Abacan at a conference on Monday, 9AM at the MTRCB Adjudication Room.
MTRCB reminds that the ‘SPG’ pictogram in the show only indicates for theme and language. (see: MTRCB summons “Bubble Gang” for derogatory portrayal of female character) This constitutes to the self-regulation in regard to the program. Due to the gravity of subject matter, personnel behind and personalities of GMA Network’s “Bubble Gang” appeared on a Mandatory Conference held on Monday, December 9 at the MTRCB Office. Based on discussion, “Bubble Gang” undertakes to submit proposed measures to ensure gender-sensitive content by December 16, 2013.
