Anderson Cooper and other CNN reporters flew to Tacloban City to report the devastation of the strongest storm this year and relief operation by the government for his program Anderson Cooper 360°.
In this report, Cooper said, “No real evidence of organized relief and rescue operation around Tacloban. I haven’t seen much of a relief effort, I haven’t seen a large military presence.”
This report irked ABS-CBN news anchor Korina Sanchez and shot back at the CNN anchor in her radio program over DZMM, and said, “Itong si Anderson Cooper, sabi wala daw gov’t presence sa Tacloban. Mukhang hindi niya alam ang sinasabi niya.”
Sanchez is the wife of DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, (along with Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin) who have been appointed to lead “search, rescue and relief operations on the ground, and to ensure no areas are isolated or cut off” from government resources.
