In his interview with Anthony Taberna in “Tapatan Ni Tunying” airing this Thursday (November 7), the 60-year old singer says, “I am hoping that we’ll be together until the last day of my life, though I know that I have no control of the future.”
His relationship with is girlfriend, who he fondly calls “babe” and with whom he has a 44-year age gap, continues to generate buzz on social media. But what really shocked the public was the girl’s announcement of their intention to get married and start a family even if she is not of legal age yet.
Freddie admits that he is already tired of answering to bashers, but he has a message for them.
“To those who don’t understand, if you come to a point where you fall in love with someone who is much younger than you, that is the only time you’ll understand,” he says.
Aside from addressing the issue at hand, Freddie also talks about his childhood life, his relationship with his father and his children, and his legendary music career.
In the episode, Freddie’s daughter Meagan Aguilar also comes to his defense as the controversy continues to escalate. Meagan explains that she supports Freddie’s relationship because she is concern about her father’s future and is afraid of him growing old alone.
“He thinks of someone who will stay by his side for the rest of his life because eventually, we’ll leave him and live our own life. How can we leave our father alone? I don’t think we can,” she says.
Meagan shares that she witnessed his father getting depressed after his previous relationship ended. As a daughter, Meagan says that she is nothing but happy that her father has found love once again.
“Sometimes he arrives home in a bad mood and tired, but whenever he sees his “Babe,” he feels relieved. He really feels that he is home,” she shared.
