From October 31 to November 1, the Emergency Response Unit of TV5 News and Information (News5) will set up 24-hour first-aid stations and public assistance desks at the Manila North and South Cemeteries.
The public can avail of the following services for free: wheelchair assistance for senior citizens, blood pressure monitoring, drinking water stations in partnership with Maynilad, phone calls via Smart Communications, and electronic device charging through One Meralco Foundation.
“True to our commitment to what we call ‘cause journalism’, Rescue 5 will not just deliver news but will also provide assistance to our Kapatids who will visit cemeteries. People may also call the Rescue 5 hotline 922-5155 for any emergency,” said TV5 Public Service Head Sherryl Yao.
Through the Aksyon sa Undas interstitials which are now airing on TV5 and its news channel Aksyon TV, Rescue 5 provides public safety tips before people leave the house as well as the do’s and don’ts inside cemeteries.
