Since Michael V. is not a contract star of GMA Network, he can do shows with other networks. This is the reason why Bitoy (other name of Michael V.), considered one of the luckiest among the few TV stars who succeed as an artist without an exclusive network contract. It’s the same setup that allows Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon to do projects with other networks.
18 years ago, Bitoy is one of the original members of the iconic gag show “Tropang Trumpo,” which ran for five years with his ka-Tropa led by Ogie Alcasid and Gelli De Belen who have also returned to TV5 and became bonafide Kapatid talents. He is undeniably one of the most versatile actors and impersonators of this generation. Further, he has also made his mark in the music industry where he also excelled as a rapper, singer, and composer. Bitoy’s comic ingenuity has popularized a number of hilarious characters through various shows and movies he has done and are still doing to this day.
Premiering on November 16 at 9:00pm under the direction of Mike Tuviera, “Killer Karaoke: Pinoy Naman” promises to be wackier as Bitoy adds his own brand of comedy to the already hilarious format as Pinoys now get to participate and try out the game show’s nerve-wracking challenges. “Killer Karaoke” is a big hit in the UK, USA, Russia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Thailand, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, and Mexico. The US version was also acquired by TV5 and has been airing every Saturday since September 14. It has been well-received by viewers and TV5 now gives the thrilling Karaoke challenge a Pinoy twist.
