Less violence – that’s what I learned during the presscon of TV5’s newest program, “Face the People” which will be hosted by Gelli de Belen and Christine Bersola-Babao. This new show is pretty much more sanitized version of “Face to Face” which tackles talk-of-the-town stories, and tear-jerking revelations.
The reformatted show called “Face the People” still carries the winning features of the previously aired “Face to Face” with Amy Perez. It still promises more drama, more intrigues but less harm this time. No more or at least less guests losing control to the point of nearly coming to blows but held back, nevertheless, by the standby, well-built referees. According to Gelli during the presscon, the show will focus more on the ‘people making decisions without confronting each other.’ The hosts will ask the subject what his proposed solution is and we consult with our ‘coaches’ with different but appropriate backgrounds.
Aside from the hosts, there will be ‘Life Coaches’ on the show that will help more the guest/s in search for answers to their problems. Life Coaches will serve as a guide just like in the previous show. The format looks promising since it’s no longer SPG (I guess) and can be viewed by everyone.
“Face the People” will premiere on October 14 at 4:30pm on TV5.
