ABS-CBN and its flagship AM radio station DZMM were named the Outstanding TV Station of the Year and the Outstanding Radio Station of the Year at the recently held Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) Awards for their commitment to eradicate criminality and corruption and assist crime victims.

Ted Failon’s current affairs program “Failon Ngayon,” meanwhile, was once again recognized for the second straight year in the Anti-Corruption Campaign category for exposing and acting on corrupt practices that affect the public.

ABS-CBN’s late night newscast “Bandila,” anchored by Julius Babao, Karen Davila, and Ces Drilon, was honored as the Outstanding TV News Program, while broadcast journalists Doris Bigornia and Zyann Ambrosio both received the TV Reporters Special Award.

For DZMM, anchor Korina Sanchez was named the Outstanding Radio Anchor and her program “Rated Korina” as the Outstanding Radio Program.

Vic Lima and David Oro, the anchors of “Tandem: Lima at Oro” took home the Radio News Anchor Special Award, while Noel Alamar won as the Outstanding Radio Field Reporter.

The awards were given at the 15th anniversary celebration of VACC, a non-government organization that aims to fight crime and promote justice in the country.

ABS-CBN and DZMM were also hailed as the Television Station of the Year and Radio Station of the Year at this year’s Rotary Club of Manila Journalism Awards, one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious award-giving bodies in journalism.
