TV5 media research chief Chiqui Trivino announced on Tuesday that the Kapatid Network bested the Kapuso Network in the south during the said period, particularly in Metro Iloilo, Metro Bacolod, Metro Cebu, Cagayan De Oro and Metro General Santos.
Citing data from AGB Nielsen, Trivino said TV5 garnered 20% audience share in Visayas, four points ahead of GMA’s 16%. ABS-CBN got 53% share.
In Mindanao, the Kapatid network received 15% audience share against the Kapuso Network’s 12%, while ABS-CBN posted a 61% audience share.
TV5′s audience share in the said regions has been increasing since January 2012 at the expense of GMA-7.
Meanwhile, GMA Network still rules Metro Manila with 34% audience share for the said period while ABS-CBN had 32%. TV5 stood at 17%.
Overall, TV5′s audience share nationwide went up to 17%. GMA-7 had 29% while ABS-CBN garnered 40%.
The shows that boosted TV5′s primetime ratings are the “2013 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Game 3 Finals match between Barangay Ginebra and Alaska Aces” and the tagalized movie specials “Sine Ko 5ingko Premiere.”
