Piolo was one of eight stars who renewed their contract with the network.
Heartened with his continuous projects and warm support from the fans, Piolo is planning a concert before the end of 2013 to mark his 15th anniversary in entertainment this year.
Piolo’s “Apoy sa Dagat” co-star Diether Ocampo, who has been with ABS-CBN since 1995, was also present to renew his ties with the network.
“This event is very symbolic. I can’t even count how long I’ve been in showbusiness anymore and I am very thankful to the people behind my career,” said Diether.
The other male artists who also signed again with Kapamilya network were Carlo Aquino, Zanjoe Marudo, Jason Gainza and Jason Abalos.
Overwhelmed with the warm welcome he felt in returning as Kapamilya, award-winning actor Carlo Aquino thanked ABS-CBN for his projects including “Annaliza,” where he plays a kontrabida character.
“ABS-CBN and Star Magic know how to take care of their talents so in return, I will continue to give my best in making people laugh and also making them cry in my shows,” said Jason Gainza who is a mainstay of “Banana Split” and “Ina, Kapatid, Anak.”
Rising stars Julia Barretto and “Annaliza” lead star Andrea Brillantes also formalized their commitment with the network.
Gladdened to see young stars choosing to stay with ABS-CBN, Diether imparted some of the lessons he learned in the industry. He addressed newbies Julia and Andrea and told them, “What’s very important in this business is humility and of course, learn to value people who appreciate you and even those who go against you and criticize you.”
Jason Abalos, meanwhile, confirmed at the event that he will be joining the cast of the remake of the Mexican telenovela “Maria Mercedes” with Jessy Mendiola and Jake Cuenca. “Cofradia,” a 1953 film that starred Gloria Romero, will have a TV remake to be topbilled by Julia.
Present at the contract-signing were ABS-CBN CEO and president Charo Santos-Concio, broadcast head Cory Vidanes, TV production head Laurenti Dyogi, TV production business unit head Ruel Bayani and Star Magic consultant Johnny Manahan.
