Last year, over a hundred cosplay enthusiasts participated and the ultimate champion was awarded an all-expense paid trip to Singapore to experience the Singapore Toy Game and Comic Convention 2012.
Hero Face Off 2013: The Ultimate Cosplay Battle is set to be the grandest yet in the channel’s history as it partners with TOYCON 2013 happening at SM Megatrade Halls 1, 2 & 3 on June 14, 15 & 16. The worlds of costume-playing and toys and comics will “collide” at this spectacular crossover event, one that the Philippine anime community can only describe as a “pop culture revolution”. The country’s top cosplayers will parade their crafts in an environment packed with jaw-dropping displays of toys and collectibles.
Now on its fourth year, Hero Face Off is a celebration of Pinoy creativity through costume playing, with the big bonus of sending globally competitive cosplayers to prestigious cosplay events outside the country on an annual basis. Bear witness to a duel between the best cosplayers of the Philippines, which will play out under three categories: Kid Squad category – Individual (open to children 12 years old and below), League of Heroes – Group (open to cosplayers 13 to 40 years old) and Face Off: World Cosplay Summit Philippine Preliminaries Final Qualifier.
The Face Off Category is a much-coveted contest with the winner set to take home the grand title, P20,000 cash and the rare opportunity to experience the World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya, Japan—the origin of anime, itself. Expect to witness the best of Pinoy Cosplay as the cream of the crop from all over the country—winners from Subic, Bicol, Davao and Metro Manila—compete for HERO FACE OFF’s Ultimate Champ.
The Kid Squad champ will be given P15,000 plus a plaque and a gift pack, while the League of Heroes champion will be given P20,000, and also a plaque and gift packs.
