In January 2010, siblings Sorato, Ariel, and Jaramie were found dead with multiple stab wounds and their throats slit. Jaramie, meanwhile, was believed to be raped because she was found wearing no underwear. Their brother Junior and cousin Haidee, meanwhile, were injured but survived the slaughter.
The survivors positively identified the family’s fishpond caretaker, Rodel Velasco as the one responsible for the crime. According to the siblings’ father, Rodel was in love with the 13-year-old Jaramie and was once caught sneaking into Jaramie’s bedroom while the teenager was asleep. Rodel is believed to have committed the crime because he was enraged after being dumped by Jaramie.
Three years after the incident, the suspect remains at-large, and the victims’ family continues to seek justice and information leading to Rodel’s arrest.
