“We are glad that another institution believes in DZMM’s efforts to promote education via its program TLC,” said Ging Reyes, head of ABS-CBN integrated news and current affairs. “DZMM is always open to groups that want to give support to TLC because we want to help children as much as possible,” she added.
Enchanted Kingdom (EK) will bring the magical world of fairytales to different rural areas in the country starting this June by conducting story-telling sessions and bringing its mascot that will entertain and play with the children. EK will also invite some of the children from certain provinces to the well-known theme park.
EK chairman and president Mario Mamon said that aside from bringing happiness to kids’ hearts, EK is also committed to molding their learning. “We always believe in ABS-CBN’s projects, most especially in DZMM’s. We also aim to be involved in a noble effort. So when we understood the goal of TLC, we decided to support the project and become a part of it,” Mamon added.
DZMM launched TLC in 2010 to promote health and learning in areas devastated by typhoon Ondoy by giving free medical services and holding feeding programs, teaching sessions, educational books and other school supplies. TLC also bagged an Anvil Award of Merit Public Relations Programs on Sustained Basis Social Responsibility in 2012. Anvil Awards is considered as the most prestigious award-giving body in the local public relations industry.
Aside from TLC, EK also supports another DZMM’s project “Maligayang Paslit,” where some street children are given a chance to spend a day and play at EK during Christmas season.
Present during the signing of memorandum of agreement between ABS-CBN and EK were ABS-CBN integrated news and current affairs head Ging Reyes, DZMM station manager Marah Capuyan, DZMM medical consultant Dr. Luisa Puyat, DZMM finance officer Andrew Torcelino, EK chairman and president Mario Mamon, and EK chief operating officer Cynthia Mamon.
