In Wednesday’s (May 1) episode, broadcast journalists Maan Macapagal and Dominic Almelor tell the story of Hermie, whose six children would sometimes just coldly pass by her by the river. A concerned resident in the area already took her in and takes care of her, but not a day goes by when she doesn’t long for her children.
But according to Hermie, she can’t blame her children for forsaking her because they felt she had abandoned them when she left them and worked in Dubai as a domestic helper for a decade. Hermie eventually returned to the Philippines, suffered from arthritis and gout, and was later forced to sell the house she had bought. None of her children took her in, so she found her own place by the river.
Now sickly, Hermie years for forgiveness from her children. With the help of DSWD, “Saklolo” invited six of them to a gathering. Will all of them show up?
