Both known for being music artists in Korea, Minho and Sulli got into acting via this Korean adaptation of the hit Taiwanese soap “Hana Kimi,” where they both received their first acting awards as best newcomers and best couple in the 2012 SBS Drama Awards.
Follow the story of JC Goo, a Korean girl who lives in the United States who will fall in love with high jump athlete, Paul John Kang, after seeing him compete on television. She begins to idolize Paul John whom she considers as her biggest inspiration in life.
Paul John, however, meets an accident that could possibly end his career which will prompt JC to go back to Korea, attend the same school Paul John goes to, and carry on a mission to convince the track and field star not to quit sports.
There is a catch, though— Paul John attends an all-boys high school and JC must disguise herself as a boy to be enrolled as a student.
How long can JC pretend to be a man? Can she hide her feelings especially if she shares the same room as her beloved Paul John? Will she succeed in stopping Paul John from giving up his career in sports? How will Paul John react if he finds out that JC went through all the trouble just for him?
The Taiwanese version of “Hana Kimi” starring Taiwanese heartthrob Wu Chun and Taiwanese sweetheart Ella Chen also aired on ABS-CBN back in 2008.
Don’t miss the premiere of “To the Beautiful You” this Monday (April 15), after “Pinoy True Stories” only in the first and true home of Asianovelas, ABS-CBN.
