Broadcast journalist Ted Failon checks if government agencies are properly allocating budget for road repairs in “Failon Ngayon” this Saturday (Mar 16).

The Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH)’s plan to rehabilitate EDSA recently elicited different reactions and criticisms from the public since the project will take years and cause traffic.

At present, different private and government agencies such as DPWH, Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (MWSS) and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) have already started lot of construction projects on roads that generate heavier traffic.

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has also been conducting road re-blocking on major thoroughfares. How much does the government spend on this?

Sources said the government has cut back on road construction, resulting in low-cost, poor-quality roads in the metro that need multiple repairs and require added cost.

Don’t miss this full report in “Failon Ngayon” this Saturday (March 16), 4:45 PM, after SOCO on ABS-CBN with a replay on ANC every Sunday, 2PM.
