Today is the day when humor reigns and harmless pranks, practical jokes, and hoaxes are sanctioned. Customary practices range from simple tricks played on friends, family, and coworkers to elaborate media hoaxes concocted for mass consumption. April Fools’ Day, sometimes called All Fools’ Day, is one of the most light-hearted days of the year. Its origins are uncertain. Some see it as a celebration related to the turn of the seasons, while others believe it stems from the adoption of a new calendar.
For most people it’s just a mildly diverting day of spotting pranks in amongst news articles and listening carefully to what your friends tell you in case they’re trying to trick you.
For example of (prank) headlines for today: (which is really far from reality)
- Dingdong Dantes, now a Kapamilya! or John Lloyd Cruz is now a Kapuso! (and so on and so forth)
- (Worst thing to do. I don’t want to mention examples.) Joke about someone’s death or announce someone is dead even if it’s not true.
- Kim, Gerald, back to each other’s arms again!
- Marian and Dingdong, likely to split this year?
- Maja and Kim, BFF once again?
- John Lloyd Cruz announces “It Takes a Man and a Woman” his last movie
- Marian Rivera retires from showbiz
Make sure you’re really prepare for the wrath of those you prank, because these pranks, although hilarious, are definitely anger-inducing. Happy April Fools Day! Still, learn how to laugh even if it’s really annoying!
