As a coach, Bamboo will guide and mentor contestants who will be part of his team and will strive to hone their skills to the fullest so that, in the end, one of them will emerge as grand winner and be named “The Voice of the Philippines.”
From being a frontman of bands Rivermaya and Bamboo to becoming an award-winning solo artist, Bamboo accepted the project because he felt this is the right moment for him to pass on what he knows about music to a new breed of Pinoy music artists.
“I think I am very much ready to coach. There is a time for everything and I believe this is my time,” he said.
When asked what kind of artists he would like to coach, Bamboo quipped, “I’ve been listening to rock for a long time but I also listen to other genres from rock to pop to folk to everything. I want someone who is open to all kinds of music; someone who is willing to listen and willing to learn.”
Unlike other ABS-CBN-produced talent shows such as Pilipinas Got Talent and The X Factor Philippines, contestants of “The Voice of the Philippines” can make it through the different rounds mostly because of their vocal ability.
