More viewers nationwide preferred watching the “MasterChef Pinoy Edition: The Live Cook-Off” last Saturday (Feb 9) where JR Royol, the Rakistang Kusinero of Benguet, was named the country’s first ever Pinoy MasterChef.
The finale registered a national TV rating of 19.2% and made it as the fifth most watched program on that day, beating rival programs “Sarap Diva” (6.5%) and “Maynila (7.8%) of GMA.
Hosted by Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, the kusina serye kept viewers hooked as it not only featured the MasterChef hopefuls’ cooking prowess but also their personal stories, struggles, and ambitions.
Serving as judges for the whole season were Chef Fernando “Ferns” Aracama, Chef Rolando “Lau” Laudico, and Chef JP “Jayps” Anglo.
