The event brought together senatorial candidates, former senators Richard Gordon, Ernesto Maceda, Jun Magsaysay, Cong. Sonny Angara and Manila mayor Alfredo Lim representing the “beterano” panel, and senatorial candidates Grace Poe-Llamanzares, Bro. Eddie Villanueva, Bam Aquino, gubernatorial candidate in Masbate Fr. Leo Casas, and former reporter and congressional candidate Sol Aragones making up the “bagito” panel.
The electoral hopefuls expressed their views on different issues such as political dynasty, divorce, disaster preparedness, environmental and educational concerns, campaign strategy, as well as the programs they plan to carry out if they get elected.
The public was also given a chance to voice out their opinions via text and social media poll where 88% said they would vote for the “bagitos” or the neophyte politicians if the elections were to be held the following day, while only 12% said they sided with the “beteranos” or veteran politicians.
The forum was moderated by Kabayan Noli De Castro, accompanied by Henry Omaga-Diaz and Jing Castaneda. “Bagito o Beterano: The DZMM Halalan 2013 Forum” is part of a series of debates and election specials produced by Mega Manila’s number one AM radio station to help voters get to know the candidates for different government posts.
