Quezon City, Philippines, January 31 – In celebration of the 27th anniversary of the People Power Revolution or EDSA Revolution, TFC dramatizes the biographies of iconic figures in Philippine political history in the sub-titled version of the longest-running drama program, MMK Classics.
Beginning February 5 (Tokyo, Sydney, Milan and Riyadh time), MMK Classics will retell the story of former Senator Rene Cayetano, more popularly known as Kampañero. In the episode dubbed Upuan, seasoned actor Ronaldo Valdez shows how Senator Cayetano managed to win the most celebrated court cases of his time but lost the biggest battle of his life – his struggle against Hepatitis B. Matinee Idol John Lloyd Cruz portrays Cayetano’s son Lino, who is also at the helm of this stirring episode.
In a two-part episode (February 9 and 16), MMK Classics dramatizes the story of one of the most historical couples of Filipino history – that of former Senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino and former President Corazon ‘Cory Aquino. In the episode entitled Kalapati, multi-faceted actor Piolo Pascual and Box-office Queen awardee Bea Alonzo portrays the well-loved couple who each made a mark in political history with their fight against a dictatorial regime in the hopes of attaining genuine freedom for the Philippines.
Finally on February 23, Moreen Guesse portrays Fatima Soriano, a blind girl who became popular over Philippine radio airwaves because of her angelic voice. Joining Moreen is one of the most popular stars of the 80’s – Snooky Serna.
