Present during the contract signing was MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines) President Ricky R. Ilacad who incidentally was the one who signed up Sitti during his term as head of another record label. Also present were MCA Music executives Wilson Cruz (Marketing & Sales Director), Kiko Guevarra (A & R Manager) and Mark Bonifacio (OPM Label Marketing Manager).
“I’m so happy to be working again with Sir Ricky who signed up for my first album. It was a reunion of sorts for us. I am likewise excited to be working with MCA Music people and be part of such wonderful family,” Sitti said.
Sitti started the bossa nova trend in the Philippines when she released her debut album with hits “Para Sa Akin”, “Tattooed On My Mind” and other covers she interpreted with her bossa touch. Since then, several bossa nova artists followed suit but nobody beat the one who started it all which was proven by strong record sales and demand for shows here and abroad. No wonder she was called the Philippines’ Queen of Bossa Nova. She released 6 albums- majority of which have reached Gold and Platinum status and 1 remix album.
She is currently part of the ASAP Sessionistas which is featured on top variety show ASAP. Sitti also dabbled into hosting and acting and is also active in theatre. Watch out for her first album under MCA Music this 2013!
