Enrile is the author of “Juan Ponce Enrile, A Memoir”, which has already sold over 10,000 copies. Released last September, the much talked about Enrile memoir sold out days after its launch. “The JPE Memoir is definitely one of the bestselling books of 2012 and easily the biggest selling biography or memoir. The book sold very quickly and by the time the second reprint came, we were just fulfilling the long reservation list we had. Thankfully we finally have it back in stock for the holidays,” said Miguel Ramos, Marketing Director at NBS.
The book has already completed its third reprint within two months of its release.
Juan Ponce Enrile – A Memoir reveals little known details of Enrile’s youth as well as stories from his perspective behind the scenes during key moments in Philippine history. It also narrates his relationship with Ferdinand Marcos, Cory Aquino, four succeeding Philippine presidents and other formidable personalities from business and politics.
While reviews of the book have been predominantly positive, it has also sparked an active discussion, with some challenging Sen. Enrile’s version of historical events. Enrile acknowledged that others may have their own story, saying “..Since many of the events in this book are events that not only I but the whole nation witnessed and experienced, I lay no claim to a monopoly of the truth. This book is simply my own rendition of what I know to be true because I was there, and I lived through and survived all these events.”
Juan Ponce Enrile, A Memoir is published by ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc. The 772-page hard cover edition is sold in all National Book Store and Fully Booked outlets nationwide and online at www.nationalbookstore.com.ph. An e-book edition of the memoir is also available on the Amazon Kindle Store and on 50 countries outside the Philippines on the Apple iBookstore.
