We all have times where fear and
uncertainty stare us in the face.
It’s what we do at those moments that defines us.
Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez will meet for a fourth time on Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas (Sunday in Manila). And Pacquiao will show again to the world that Filipinos are great fighters. Filipinos will again raise their hands on the ring to show the world that Filipinos are great boxers.
We are so lucky to have a role model like Manny Pacquaio. A real living inspiration to most Filipinos, someone who went from rags to riches. From selling pan de sal, he is now a multi-millionaire, a singer, a congressman, an actor, an international endorser, and of course, the world’s best pound for pound boxer holding 8 titles.
Aside from inspiration, Pacquiao is also one of the greatest testinomy of positivism among Filipinos. Everyone knows that Manny came from humble beginnings and he showed courage and beat the odds to fulfill his dreams. May all of us achieve our dreams with faith, (hard) smart work, and perseverance. Let’s all get inspired by our “Pambansang Kamao” and may he win against Mosley in his fight tomorrow.
No titles will be at stake this time, but of course, Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao and Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez will try to settle who’s the best boxer in their prime when they clash on December 8 (December 9, Manila time) for the fourth time. Whatever happens, Manny will remain a source of inspiration for the Filipino people! Goodluck Manny!
