After GMA Network’s first epicserye titled “Amaya,” they are now working on the most expensive TV series ever produced in Philippine TV as boasted by the network. The production budget was reported to be at P50 million, making this newest TV series the most expensive drama ever in local TV history.
It’s good to see something a very refreshing series again on TV. A series based on history that will surely have depth just like in “Amaya.” It’s good to know that the network is really willing to spend this much for this kind of TV series. The production costs are much bigger than producing the movie.
We’ll just hope that GMA Network will continue to produce quality show like this. This is very entertaining and at the same time educational as we learn the traditions and culture during pre-hispanic and colonial ages.
According to news, filming for the project began last month, to give ample time for the production team to come up with elaborate sets and costumes for the pilot show set to air on January 14.
Under the supervision of historians Dr. Vic Villan and Dr. Rolando Borrinaga (both from the University of the Philippines) “Indio” is written by Suzette Doctolero and directed by Dondon Santos. It also stars Jennylyn Mercado, Michael de Mesa, Jackielou Blanco, Agot Isidro, Robert Arevalo, Jomari Yllana, Solenn Heussaff, Alden Richards and Rhian Ramos.
