The teleserye topbilled by Shaina Magdayao, Bangs Garcia, and Jake Cuenca will air its final episode this Friday (November 16).
According to Shaina, she has nothing but utmost gratitude for all the fans who have followed their story and loved their characters. “It’s sad that we are about to end, but at the same time it’s fulfilling to see the audience’s good reception to our story,” she said. “I’m really glad that all our effort was worth it and in our own little way, we’ve touched the lives of our viewers and served as an inspiration to them.”
Shaina added that their drama series, which started airing on April 16, further honed her craft as an actress. “We worked for almost a year for this series. And as an actress, this was a big challenge for me,” said Shaina, who is better known to TV viewers as Sarah, Paul’s (Jake) wife and Mia’s (Bangs) greatest rival. “As Sarah, I was able to portray various roles which I haven’t even experienced yet in life. In the show, I played as a mother, a wife who eventually filed for an annulment, and a patient who have undergone amnesia.”
Aside from her love scenes with Jake, loyal viewers of “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo” watch out for her action-packed face-off with Bangs. “If there’s one reason that I’m glad that our show is over, it’s because my violent behavior will finally be over,” Shaina shared. “It doesn’t feel good to be fierce all the time. But then, a lot of our followers love to see Sarah’s confrontation scenes with Mia.”
Aside from Shaina, Bangs and Jake, also part of the cast are Ron Morales, Gloria Diaz, Sandy Andolong, Maria Isabel Lopez, Dick Ysrael, Nikki Valdez, Jojit Lorenzo, Ronnie Lazaro, Dianne Medina, Joross Gamboa, Alyanna Angeles, and Jillian Aguila. Award-winning actors Christopher de Leon and Philip Salvador were also featured in the show as Jake and Shaina’s fathers, respectively. “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo” is directed by Lino S. Cayetano, Manny Q. Palo, Jojo A. Saguin and Avel E. Sunpongco.
