GMA Network is bringing back the hit 90’s youth-oriented show “T.G.I.S” (Thanks God It’s Saturday). The weekly teen show which created a milestone in Philippine television ran from August 12, 1995 to November 27, 1999 having two batches. The show, which had a good 4-year run, won 3 awards, was made into a movie and spinned-off to a new show titled “Growing Up.”
GMA Network’s “T.G.I.S.” is one of the most iconic youth oriented program of the 90’s, it had introduced some of the most popular teenstars of that decade.
From “T.G.I.S.,” to “Teen Gen”
“T.G.I.S” was changed to “Teen Gen” as of writing as it’s new title but I think the smae concept. The new batch of all new faces on the show will be led by Derrick Monasteryo which id the only current GMA tweenstar that will be part of the cast. Also included in the cast from the original cast are Bobby Andrews and Angelu de Leon. This will still be directed by Mark Reyes, the original director of “T.G.I.S”.
