Pilita Corales ends duties as a mentor; mentee, Joan Da booted from the “The X Factor Philippines”

Pilita Corrales’ duties as a mentor of the Over 25s ended last Sunday (Sep 9) after her last mentee, Joan Da, got booted from the “The X Factor Philippines.”

Joan once again landed in the bottom two, this time with Charice‘s mentee Allen Sta. Maria after they scored the lowest number of votes from the public. Pilita and Charice sided with their bets but Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera both voted to save Allen after watching her survival song. For Gary, Allen didn’t just perform on stage but also expressed what she truly feels with the song. Martin, on the other hand, said that Joan only “sang a song” while Allen “sang her life.”

With Joan leaving the competition, Pilita is the first mentor to lose all her acts. Meanwhile, Gary is hanging tough with his last mentee in the Groups category, Daddy’s Home. Charice still has KZ Tandingan and Allen under the Girls category, while Martin remains unrattled with three of his Boys still in the game— Jeric Medina, Gabriel Maturan, and Kedebon Colim.

What challenges await them this week? Who will go home and who will continue their course to becoming the next multimedia superstar? Be sure to save your favorites from being in the bottom two by voting for them this Saturday night (Sept 8). Vote after their performances by texting XFJERIC/GAB/KED/ALLEN/KZ/DAD and send it to 2331 for Globe and Sun subscribers and 231 for Smart and Talk ‘n Text subscribers.

Watch as the competition get even tougher in the country’s biggest and grandest musical event of the year, “The X Factor Philippines,” with KC Concepcion as host, every Saturday, after “MMK,” and every Sunday, after “Sarah G Live” on ABS-CBN.
