“Patrol ng Pilipino” looks into plastic use regulation in Quezon City

ABS-CBN news reporter Jing Castaneda will examine the recently implemented ordinance in Quezon City that regulates the use of plastic bags in stores, markets, and business establishments tomorrow (Sept 11) in “Patrol ng Pilipino.”

The local government of QC saw the need to enforce the ordinance following the widespread flooding in the metro due to typhoon Ondoy and the rains brought by the monsoon winds. Non-biodegradable garbage like plastic materials are said to be the main cause of clogged drains and sewers that lead to floods.

How have vendors and shoppers reacted to the implementation of the ordinance that boosts the campaign for a cleaner city? Will other cities follow suit?

“Patrol ng Pilipino” will also weigh in on the issue by airing the side of plastic bag manufacturers and QC Chief of Staff Aldrin Cuñat.

Meanwhile, Maan Macapagal will probe the recent robbery incidents in Metro Manila that were caught on CCTV. What have the police done to solve and reduce robbery cases? Also catch safety and self-defense measures drawn on the testimonies of robbery victims to be featured in the episode.

Know the stories behind the news tomorrow (Sept 11) in “Patrol ng Pilipino” after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN or watch it earlier on DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable Channel 26), 9:15 p.m. For updates on the program, follow @Patrol_Pilipino on Twitter or like www.facebook.com/PatrolNgPilipinoTV.
