At 34th CMMA, Extreme Makeover Home Edition Philippines won the Best Public Service Program award. “This is a culmination of all the struggles and triumphs from the past year and a half. Naibuhos namin ang lahat sa programang ‘yan. Itong award na ‘to ay icing on the cake. Natapos namin ‘yung season on a very high note and ito ay isang napakalaking bagay para sa aming lahat,” said Bediones after accepting the award.
The 34th CMMA also awarded the Best Entertainment Program trophy to Talentadong Pinoy. Three other Kapatid programs — Pinoy Explorer (Best Adult Educational/ Cultural Program), Ang Katapusan (Best TV Special) and USI: Under Special Investigation “Sendong” episode (Best Special Event Coverage) — earned special citation nods from the award-giving body. Hosted by Paolo Bediones, USI is also set to compete for the 2012 Japan Prize this October.
