Norwegian singer and songwriter, best known as the vocalist of the New Wave/synthpop band Fra Lippo Lippi member Per Sorensen is here in the Philippines for a week to promote his newest album under Universal Records and will open as front act for the Tear For Fears concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on August 10 and Waterfront Cebu on August 12.
In an interview with Sorensen, he revealed that he experienced depression while he was recording the album. As a cure to depression, Sorensen shares, “My cure to depression is to tell the world about it – be open about it. Because there is always been this taboo on mental illnesses. I mean when you break your leg, you’ll go to the doctor but if you break your heart, you’ll go to a psychiatrist.”
When asked what song in the album best describes his feelings, he said, “When I recorded the album, probably the song ‘Loneliness’ which was very suitable for my mental health at the time.”
“But you know, we have also levels when it comes to love, when it come to being with the people. It’s hard to say,” he added.
His new album Master of Imperfection highlights the endearing vulnerability to Per’s voice, where melancholia pours down to the cracks of these tracks. Master of Imperfection includes ten songs, which, hopefully, will lift music fans’ souls for some forty `minutes
