The teeners’ voices will be heard as they make their choices known this year on Teen Choice Awards 2012. Awards, surfboards, and a whole lot of teen fun will fill the stage of the Gibson Amphitheatre.
Hilary Duff will return as the host of the coveted awards night, making it her third stint in the show. Music sensation and Teen Choice 2012 nominee Carly Rae Jepsen will perform her hit song, “Call Me Maybe”. Adding to the quirk are the fan-submitted lip sync videos of the song playing in the background of the riotous ceremony.
“It’s been a dream of mine to attend the Teen Choice Awards for years,” the 26-year-old singer. “To perform and be nominated is such an honor. I’m looking forward to sharing this amazing night with the fans and friends who got me there!”
The 2012 Teen Choice Awards will have an exclusive live Philippine telecast via satellite on Velvet, the home of the biggest Hollywood red carpet events. Among the Velvet shows that are included in the roster of nominees are “Ringer”, “Jersey Shore”, “Hawaii Five-O” and “Keeping up with the Kardashians”.
“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” received the most nominations and leads with a smashing 11 nominations; Canadian pop-singer Justin Bieber has 9 nominations; and the film “Snow White and the Huntsman” has six; Kristen Stewart also seems to be tied up with the battles between her vehicles in the films “Breaking Dawn” and “Snow White” particularly.
Sarah Michelle Gellar is nominated in the Choice TV Actress: Drama category for her outstanding performance as Bridget Kelly and Siobhan Martin in the thrilling drama series “Ringer”. On the other hand, three nominations were received by the police procedural series “Hawaii Five-O” being in the nomination roster of categories Choice TV Show: Action, Choice TV Actor: Action for Daniel Dae Kim, and Choice TV Actress: Action for Grace Park.
“Jersey Shore”, “Keeping up with the Kardashians”, and the newly-arrived reality show “Tia & Tamera” also landed in the Choice TV: Reality Show category. The universally-viral show “Jersey Show” also snatched three more nominations. Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino are both nominated in the Choice TV: Male Reality Star category while Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is nominated in the Choice TV: Female Reality Star category. Aside from Polizzi, Tia and Tamera Mowry of “Tia and Tamera”, and the members of the Kardashian family of “Keeping up with the Kardashians” are also nominated for the Choice TV: Female Reality Star.
Other prominent artists whose names will echo in the grand hall are Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Tyra Banks, Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Leighton Meester, and Ed Westwick.
