ABS-CBN’s premier crime investigation program “SOCO: Scene of the Crime Operatives” anchored by Gus Abelgas debuted strongly on its new, earlier timeslot as it succeeded as one of the most-watched TV programs last weekend.
“SOCO” scored a national TV rating of 13.6% against its rival program “Wish Ko Lang” with only 9.2% last Saturday (July 14), based on Kantar Media‘s data that covers urban and rural areas across the country. It also ranked ninth in the overall top programs with its episode that featured a religious sect founded and headed by a brutal and manipulative leader who punished and even raped his followers. Besides “SOCO,” programs from ABS-CBN’s newly launched news and current affairs weekend block “Failon Ngayon” (13.6%) and “TV Patrol Weekend” (21.1%) also ruled the national TV ratings game and beat rival programs on GMA.
This Saturday (July 21), Gus will probe the rape-murder case of an 18-year old female killed in the fields of Camiling, Tarlac that points to her boyfriend and uncle as the primary suspects. Initial investigations reveal that victim Mary Cris was drowned in an irrigation canal and was possibly raped based on a piece of male underwear and a pair of slippers left in the crime scene. Who between the two suspects will the physical and forensic evidence incriminate as the killer?
