“Makapiling Kang Muli” is the newest offering of GMA 7 for the 2nd quarter of this year and just aired it’s pilot episode yesterday on primetime block of GMA Telebabad. I was able to see the trailer weeks prior to airing day and I must admit I was impressed on how they include enticing and promising scenes that would win back viewers and give it’s rival block, “Walang Hanggan,” some tough and real competition.
The Superb casting and themesong also gained my interest to watch this soap that includes veteran actors like Gloria Romero, Rio Locsin, and GMA’s leading frontrunners Richard Guttierrez, Carla Abellana and it’s conspicous themesong, “Hangang Ngayon,” originally sang by Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid.
Yesterday’s episode was quite impressive, it started with intense scenes with Carla slapping Richard‘s face multiple times and uttering words of dismay to richard’s “uncertain” acts of dishonesty (the reason is still vague). The scenes in the Jailhouse with richard were also beyond my expectations, they effortlessly pulled off fight scenes, dangerous motorcycle stunts, bombings and blasting and most especially the camera shots really gave me the feeling that i was like in a movie house watching a legit action movie, credits to the newest and state of the art cameras of their production and superb directing skills of Ricky Davao.
Flashback scenes with Gloria Romero and Jennilyn Mercado were also promising that really gave me a country-type and classic ambiance of wild west.
I should say, for the whole production per se, it would definitely give “Walang Hanggan” a real and reasonable competition.
Overall the whole pilot episode was superb. I rated it according to the following aspects:
Acting: 9/10
Storyline: 8/10
Production: 8/10
