The elections are one year away, but several politicians have already started appearing in television commercials and posters as if to express their intention to run in the upcoming midterm elections next year.
Tomorrow (May 24) in “Krusada,” broadcast journalist Henry Omaga-Diaz will assess how these early campaign tactics of politicians influence the potential choices of voters. Meet the advertising and public relations specialists, fashion designers, and graphics experts who create and build up the image of the country’s political aspirants.
“Candidates are like manufactured goods that are made and packaged to be appealing. How can we scrutinize them as early as now?” said Henry.
Meanwhile, James Jimenez, director of the Education and Information Department of the Commission on Elections will advise voters on how to evaluate and choose candidates to vote for. Rep. Edwin Olivarez will also detail his proposition to require a voter’s education course in school curricula to nurture responsible voters and teach them the significance of clean elections.
Be a smarter voter and watch Henry’s report in “Krusada” tomorrow (May 24) after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN or catch it earlier on DZMM TeleRadyo (SKyCable Channell 26), 9:15 p.m.
