As his multi-awarded educational program “Matanglawin” celebrates its 4th anniversary, Kuya Kim recounts his top 4 unforgettable adventures done in the show that truly proved how fearless he is as a host.
One of the memorable experiences of the Trivia King is when he swam in Pasig River just so the public will be aware of the volume of garbage there. Kuya Kim reminisced the dirt and filth he went through and revealed that he actually got sick after taping the said episode.
He also narrated the time when he had a stroke and the operation of his heart was exclusively aired in “Matanglawin.” For him, it was the most meaningful episode of the show because he served as an inspiration to people who also went through or is going through the same heart condition.
Meanwhile, the show’s feature on the lives of the septic tank cleaners is proof that “Matanglawin” goes to the extreme to impart knowledge to the viewers. Kuya Kim endured the unbearable stench just to experience this ‘dirty’ job.
Lastly, he recalled the most painful experience he had was when he was bitten by a “bayawak.” Despite being used to animals, Kuya Kim was unable to escape its naturally vicious nature.
He may be saluted by many for his boldness to do such tasks, but the Trivia King reminded viewers, especially children, not to imitate what he’s been doing.
Filipinos will surely see more of Kuya Kim in “Matanglawin,” but when asked what the public should expect from the show, he simply said, “I really don’t know what can possibly happen because the search for knowledge is limitless. I am just happy that we were given this chance to educate our viewers.”
“Matanglawin” is part of ABS-CBN “Bida Best Kid” campaign launched recently that aims to empower children by encouraging them to become who they want to be and the best that they can be. It doesn’t only entertain and educate its young viewers with its values-oriented, child-friendly programs, but supports their dreams and aspirations as well.
Don’t miss the second-part of “Matanglawin’s” 4th anniversary special shot in Bangkok this Sunday (Apr 29), 9:30 AM on ABS-CBN.
