Another Philippine milestone will be set On October 21, 2012 as Pope Benedict XVI canonizes the Visayan martyr and second Filipino saint Pedro Calungsod.

But what does it take to make someone a saint?

Join Kuya Kim on this different journey of the heart as he explores the beliefs, traditions, and miracles that surround ordinary people who have done extraordinary works that have paved their way to sainthood in “Matanglawin” this Sunday (Apr 8).

The country’s Trivia King gets to know the different saints, from St. Francis of Assisi who can talk to and tame animals to St. Maria Gorretti, the youngest saint at 12 years old, and to St. Jude, the patron saint of lost causes.

He even gets to interview a half-Filipino, half-Lebanese professor from the University of the Philippines who is related to a saint from Lebanon.

Kuya Kim will also find out the reasons behind some of the traditions that surround our saints such as prayer, touch and even the offering of eggs.

“Matanglawin” is part of ABS-CBN “Bida Best Kid” campaign launched recently that aims to empower children by encouraging them to become who they want to be and the best that they can be. It doesn’t only entertain and educate its young viewers with its values-oriented, child-friendly programs, but supports their dreams and aspirations as well.

Don’t miss another exciting episode of “Matanglawin” this Sunday (April 8), 9:30 AM on ABS-CBN.
