International Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (IPI) has announced the filming of a movie about Pedro Calungsod, the Filipino Catholic martyr from Cebu City who will soon be canonized this coming October. The canonization was announced by Pope Benedict XVI last February 18, 2012 at Saint Peter’s Basilica.
JM De Guzman, who plays “Angelito” in the ABS-CBN teleserye of the same name, is set to make his acting debut as a lead actor in a movie which will feature the life story of Cebuano martyr “The Blessed Pedro Calungsod.” The biopic is tentatively titled “Pedro.”
The movie is expected to be finished by October in time for Pedro Calungsod‘s canonization.
