Carla Abellana was rumored to switch to ABS-CBN after her contract with GMA Network expired last year. That rumor was put to rest when it was announced that she is staying with the Kapuso Network and signed a contract yesterday at the Board Room of GMA Network Center. Present in the contract signing are Atty. Felipe Gozon, Mr. Jimm Duavit, and her manager (Arnold Vegafria).
Carla who started with GMA7 in a leading role for “Rosalinda” the Pinoy adaptation of Mexicanovela played by Thalia. Carla was paired with Geoff Eigenmann who later becomes her real life boyfriend. Due to her acting abilities it is not a question why other television networks eyeing her to work with them. She was able to make her own name out of the shadows of her grandmother Delia Razon and father Rey “PJ” Abellana.
Next project to Carla is “Rancho Paradiso.” She will be joining the Primetime King Richard Gutierrez with Sarah Lahbati as the other leads. This will be the newest action/drama offering of GMA7 to start on May 2012. This will be directed by Ricky Davao.
