Julie Anne San Jose signed a recording contract on February 20, 2012 (Monday), with GMA Records. To express how happy they were with their idol’s accomplishment, Julie Anne‘s fans called that day a “Julie Anne San Jose Day” and made it trend on Twitter. Julie Anne will soon record her debut album which is set for release this summer.
During the signing of contract with GMA Records of the 17-year-old singer for her upcoming debut album, the press even asked Julie about her relationship with her onscreen partner now, Elmo Magalona. Julie Anne answered that her relationship with on screen partner Elmo is only professional and she said that she and Elmo are “still getting to know each other.”
“Hindi naman sa hindi kami nag-uusap, hindi naman din po sa hindi kami close. Pero pag nagkikita po kami, as in work lang po talaga,” she told the press.
Julie Anne is known for her version of Nicki Minaj‘s “Superbass” which became very popular on YouTube. She also performed the song as a front act during David Archuleta’s Manila concert in July last year.
Meanwhile, Julie Anne made it to Twitter’s trending topics during the day of the contract signing with the phrase “Julie Anne San Jose Day.” It trended not only in the Philippines but also for a few hours worldwide.
