During the network’s Christmas party for entertainment press, they gave a sneak peek of the shows. Entertainment VP Perci Intalan announced the following new shows to watch out for starting in January 2012.
Reality shows will be TV5’s new ingredients for 2012. It will provide much-needed diversity in everyday programming aside from their teleserye, sitcom and variety shows. They will launch five reality shows like ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Philippines,’ Kanta Pilipinas,’ Dance Nation,’ ‘The Dance Nation,’ ‘The Biggest Game Show in the World,’ and ‘ Temptation Island’.
The Philippine edition of “Extreme Makeover,” hosted by Paolo Bediones and Tessa Prieto Valdez. “The Biggest Game Show in Asia,” hosted by Richard Gomez and Joey de Leon. The show’s pilot episode was produced in Malaysia. “Temptation Island,” a homegrown reality show about people surviving a shipwreck and based on the Joey Gosiengfiao movie of the same title. “Dancing Nation,” a large-scale dancing contest featuring casts of hundreds or even thousands. “Kanta Pilipinas,” a search for new singing stars to be conducted all over the Philippines.
The TV5 strives to compete on equal terms with rival stations ABS-CBN and GMA 7.
