Ogie Alcasid denies the hot rumor that his real-life buddy and comic partner Michael V. is moving to another network.
“It’s not true at all!” he says. “For the record, he’s not transferring to TV5 in contrast to circulating reports. He will remain a Kapuso!”
His screen tandem with Michael dates back from their earlier days in the ‘biz.
“That’s why it’s not easy to let go just like that. Bitoy and I are like husband and wife. Ha-ha-ha! But seriously, he ’s not leaving me.”
Many wonder why such rumor surfaced.
“Actually, I know where the issue emanated. I won’t just go into details since there’s no tinge of truth to it. What matters is Michael is still very much with GMA. His loyalty remains intact,” adds Ogie.
According to the talented singer-actor-composer, he and Michael still has a long way to go.
“Whether in business or off cam, our friendship is solid. There are still a lot of things we plan to do as comic partners. In the shows we do together, we see to it that we come up with fresh conceptss. One concrete example is our characters Cheche and Bureche in Bubble Gang. It became a hit after Yaya and Angelina.
“When it comes to our personal lives, we’re also inseparable. For one, we’re neighbors. He’s one of the principal sponsors during my wedding with Regine (Velasquez). Our families are close. So you see, we’ve been through a lot already and we’re not throwing it all away in an instant!”
Speaking of his wife Regine, Ogie confirms the Songbird’s painstaking bout with migraine these days.
“Her attacks are more frequent now. Last week, after our song number in Party Pilipinas where she hit high notes, she whispered to me that she felt like collapsing that’s why I held her tight. But thank God, she’s much better now. She is just resting,” he states.
People want to know if after I ♥ U Pare, Regine will really lie low from the showbiz scene.
“We’re still discussing about it. But if you’ll ask me, it’s not yet time. This year marks her 25th year in the industry so a concert is possible. I don’t know yet. Let’s see.”
Ogie proudly announces that their European trip will finally push through this June.
“Yes! At last! We’ll be away for two weeks. Italy is our destination, particularly Positano. I really love the place!”
As to the persistent query on when they’ll finally have a baby, the popular host-singer avers:
“We can’t tell. We don’t want to put ourselves under pressure. Regine and I just want to obey what God’s plan is for us. He works in mysterious ways. We don’t want to complain because we’ve been very blessed.”
