Excited fans flocked and packed the venues to the rafters in the recently-held Buglasan and Lanzones Festivals of Dumaguete and Camiguin, respectively.
The stars of “Grazilda,” “Party Pilipinas” and the celebrity castaways of “Survivor Philippines” celebrated with their fans during the said festivals through activities especially prepared by the regional team of the Kapuso Network.
In Camiguin, event security estimated a crowd of 15,000 at the Camiguin Tourism Center during the Kapuso Night in celebration of the Lanzones Festival.
Resident heartthrob Mark Herras electrified the crowd, as he opened the show with his dance moves that earned him the moniker “Bad Boy of the Dance Floor.”
Kapuso Joross Gamboa and beauty queen Anna Maris Igpit of GMA Cebu took care of the hosting chores, delighting the crowd with fun games and giving away limited GMA merchandise.
The fiery “Party Pilipinas” tandem of Geoff Taylor and Frencheska Farr put the people in party mood with their covers of popular hits. Frencheska also performed her version of “Ang Pag-Ibig Kong Ito,” which also happens to be theme song of the Kapuso Korean series, “The Temptation of Wife.”
The celebrity castaways of “Survivor: Philippines Season 3” also took turns in entertaining the crowd. Karen Delos Reyes and Ahron Villena performed a song number; Aira Bermudez wowed the audience with her dance number; while Parokya ni Edgar bassist Buhawi Meneses sang and played his guitar. Moi Bien and Ervic Vijandre joined the rest of the castaways in a group production number.
“This is our first time to join the annual Lanzones Festival, and we are simply humbled and overwhelmed with the very warm welcome that the people of Camiguin has given us. Nakaka-inspire lalo na mag-mount ng shows at gumawa ng special, lalo na’t ganito kainit ang pagtanggap sa amin at sa mga programa’t mga artista ng GMA,” commented Jocelyn Bautista, program manager for Regional Entertainment TV.
Bautista also announced that the Lanzones Festival will be featured in the Nov. 21 edition of “Kapuso Fiesta,” a GMA Regional Entertainment TV special featuring the country’s grandest festivities. This will be aired in GMA’s local channels in the regions.
After a successful Kapuso Night in Camiguin, the regional team pitched tent in Dumaguete City for Negros Oriental’s Buglasan Festival.
A Kapuso Float joined the Buglasan Festival Parade with the stars of “Grazilda” onboard. Fans had a heyday snapping at the smiling faces of Glaiza De Castro, Geoff Eigenmann, Dominic Roco, and Benedict Campos. The “Grazilda” float traversed the main streets of Dumaguete with an estimated crowd of 25,000 showing up to watch.
The Kapuso Night, which was held at the Sidlakang Negros Village was equally star-studded, what with “Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown” host Richard Gutierrez leading the pack. He was joined by celebrity castaways Aubrey Miles, Ervic Vijandre, Moi Bien, Ahron Villena and Aira Bermudez.
“Koreana” lead stars Kris Bernal and Steven Silva were also present in the activity together with Geoff Taylor. An estimated crowd of 15,000 filled the venue.
GMA Network is the official media sponsor of the festival and has joined the festival for the second time.
“Our Kapuso in the regions can look forward to more activities and events like these in the coming months. It’s our way of giving back and saying thank you to the fans for their continuous support and patronage of GMA Network programs,” said GMA AVP for Regional TV Marketing and Sales Oliver Victor Amoroso.
