LISTED GMA Network, Inc. said its ratings for the month of April remained strong, noting that its lineup of afternoon and prime-time shows were among the most-watched programs.
THE GMA Network headquartersIn a statement, GMA Network said it posted an average audience share of 36.6% for April in the “Mega Manila” area, higher than rival ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp.’s 33.7%, citing data from media research firm AGB Nielsen.
GMA Network Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Felipe L. Gozon said new programs would help widen the lead.
“We are launching new programs that our viewers will surely enjoy watching. With these new shows, we are hopeful that the gap in television ratings will once again widen,” said Mr. Gozon in the statement.
AGB Nielsen and ABS-CBN could not be reached for a comment.
For April, the network had six programs in the top 10 most-watched programs. These are The Last Prince, Diva, Korean drama Queen Seon Deok, news program 24 Oras, Panday Kids and Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.
For the top daytime shows, GMA Network’s Eat Bulaga shared the No. 1 spot with ABS-CBN’s talent show Showtime.

Meanwhile, the network’s news programs 24 Oras, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho and Imbestigador ranked first, third and fourth, respectively, on the list of top five news programs.
GMA Network also said it increased its Urban North/Central Luzon ratings last month.
It posted an average audience share of 40.6% in the area compared to the 32.2% share of ABS-CBN.
In March, the GMA Network only had a seven-point lead over its rival, compared to the 8.4-point lead in April
